The Atlantic was born today, and I’ll tell you how:
The clouds above opened up and let it out.

I was standing on the surface of a perforated sphere
When the water filled every hole.
And thousands upon thousands made an ocean,
Making islands where no island should go…

Finally set foot in Europe. London for the next few days. Museums, insanely expensive sandwiches, museums galore.. and of course, live English Premier League matches.

Cheers, mate.

you have nothing to fear

a facebook note by a musician friend:

the toughest thing in life is to be honest with yourself.
to face up to the things that used to scare you, and still do.
to remember the things you missed terribly and know will never get back.

the things that truly bother you, let them surface.

we are afraid the words we write aren’t interesting enough,
the thoughts we have, not brilliant enough.
we are afraid the things we say amaze no one,
and the passions we possess ignite no hearts.

it is nobody’s purpose to amaze, inspire or excite.
but it is a special gift – to be able to be honest with yourself.

Tell yourself the things you want to hear,
Say the words you wish you could say,
and fail epically if you have to.

Everyone is born with nothing to lose.
This fact never changes.

You have nothing to fear.

I have just been discharged from hospital after a relapse of an old condition I have. Plenty of time to blog about it in the weeks to come as I have to return to the hospital everyday for IV antibiotics. So life is pretty much like a patient, except that I can sleep at home and I can pretty much choose my food. Still very nauseous from the oral antibiotics they gave me, which is costing my appetite a bit, but I think it will get better as the days go by.
